The Slovak Philharmonic is the most prominent Slovak Concert Establishment. In the pleasant environment of the historical building Reduta, in the historic town centre, it offers the fans of classical music symphonical, vocal-instrumental and chamber concerts, as well as concerts for children and young people.

The Slovak Philharmonic is also both the organiser and place of the International festival - Bratislava Music Festival.


The following artistic ensembles form the Slovak Philharmonic:

- Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra

The Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in 1949 and since then it was lead by numerous remarkable conductors. Since September 2007 the position of Principal Conductor of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra has been taken up by Peter Feranec and Leoš Svárovský has been the Permanent Guest Conductor.

The Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra regularly appears on music festivals all over Europe (Prague Spring, Prague Autumn, Bratislava Music Festival, Wiener Festwochen, Brucknerfest Linz, Carinthischer Sommer, Berliner Festtage, Festival de Strasbourg, Warszawska Jesień, Athens Festival, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Sagra Musicale Umbra).

It has performed in most European countries, Cyprus, Turkey, Japan, and the United States of America and has made a great variety of recordings for radio broadcasts, television and record companies including OPUS, Supraphon, Panton, Hungaroton, JVC Victor, RCA, Pacific Music, Naxos and Marco Polo.


- Slovak Philharmonic Choir

The Choir has co-operated with many renowned international symphony orchestras including the Berliner Philharmoniker, Wiener Philharmoniker, Wiener Symphoniker, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre de Paris etc.). The Slovak Philharmonic Choir has also contributed to the success of important international music festivals (Vienna, Salzburg, Prague, Perugia, Edinburgh, Berlin, Athens, Madrid, Paris, and Munich).

The Choir has made a variety of CD recordings for Slovak and international TV and radio stations as well as leading record companies, including Opus, Supraphon, Deutsche Grammophon, Hungaroton, Sony, Marco Polo, Naxos, Nuova Era, Decca, and many others.


- Bohdan Warchal Slovak Chamber Orchestra

Since its formation in 1960, the BOHDAN WARCHAL SLOVAK CHAMBER ORCHESTRA has grown into one of the most popular ensembles in the classical music field in Slovakia and one of the principal representatives of the Slovak arts abroad.
